Most treatment centres provide good care for the recovering alcoholic and addict but very few offer a structured programme designed not only to recover from drugs and alcohol, but to learn the ability to stay away from a drink or a drug one day at a time for the rest of their life.

Serenity House is the ONLY treatment centre in Spain that delivers the complete 12 Step programme which is a significant factor in contributing to the client’s successful recovery.

Serenity House was founded by a recovered alcoholic of many years sobriety specifically to aid those who want to rid themselves of addiction.  Our clients are taught by trained professional Counsellors who are recovered from addiction themselves, who counsel and share their experience of how they stay sober and free from addiction.

Serenity House offers a unique whole-person holistic approach within al “family” environment for the recovering client, far removed from the typical large group rehabilitation institution environments offered by others, where you live and recover as part of a working “family” centre, where the founder works together with other experienced recovered staff to treat our clients as individuals, understanding their illness and emotional problems first hand.  This "family" environment is unique and unlike anything you will find in the UK, Spain or rest of Europe, treating all our clients on an individual basis and significantly contributes to our extremely high recovery rate.  We believe in the personal approach, if a client has a problem day or night and wants to talk to someone, then they see their Counsellor immediately.

Our Treatment Centre is situated in a very private, tranquil and picturesque border area of Andalucia and Cadiz, Southern Spain.  It was  chosen specifically to be away from population centres to give our clients the ability to start their recovery without distraction from everyday life.

Surrounded by orange and lemon groves our clients work their “programme of recovery” to start from the beginning, learning about their individuality and developing the ability to take control of their addiction.

The number of clients is restricted to small group recovery in this centre, this is because alcohol and addiction recovery needs s great deal of personal counselling if it is to work effectively.

Many clients travel from the UK and Europe to Serenity House in Puerto Serrano because it removes them from the environment where their alcoholism and drug addiction exists.  This is the beginning of a process of change, retraining the character to cope without alcohol or drugs in the future.
